The IAWEA conference hotel is the Graduate Iowa City, 210 South Dubuque Street. IAWEA has a special rate of $99.00 per night for a King room and $109.00 for a Queen (2) room. PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL KING ROOMS ARE NOW FILLED AS OF 4/30. This hotel is the location of the welcome reception on Tuesday, banquet on Wednesday, and sessions on Thursday. There is parking in the adjoining ramp. Parking is $15 per day with validation from the hotel. $24 per day without validation. The last day to register for rooms at the hotel conference rate is May 14, 2024.

The Wednesday sessions, exhibit hall, and exhibitor's reception will be held at the University of Iowa Memorial Union (IMU), 125 N. Madison Street. The IMU is a short 12-minute walk across the University of Iowa campus center known as the Pentacrest. A parking ramp is conveniently located across Madison Street from the IMU. Additional parking is located farther north on Madison Street.

Ifetayo Venner, P.E. WEF Immediate Past President

Ifetayo Venner, P.E., is the immediate past president of, and a member of the 2023-24 Board of Trustees for the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Va.

Ifetayo is a Professional Engineer and Envision Sustainability professional with Arcadis, a global design and consultancy firm for natural and built assets. She is the North America Wastewater and Water Sustainability Leader.

Ifetayo has been an active member of WEF since joining after college, participating in committees and task forces related to water resource recovery facility design, sustainability and WEF governance. She is a member of the Florida Water Environment Association and the Water Environment Association of Texas.

Ifetayo is a licensed professional engineer in Florida and Texas. She has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from McGill University, a master’s degree in environmental engineering and science from Stanford University, and an MBA (with a concentration in management and sustainability) from the University of South Florida.


Lauren O'Neil, P.E. Plant Manager, City of Cedar Rapids Water Pollution Control Facility

Lauren O’Neil is currently the Plant Manager for the City of Cedar Rapids Water Pollution Control Facility. Lauren graduated from the University of Iowa with a Civil and Environmental Engineering degree and started her career as a staff engineer with HR Green, Inc. While at HR Green, Lauren worked as a staff engineer, project engineer, project manager and people manager, and earned her master’s in Environmental engineering from the University of Iowa. Lauren is also significantly involved in member organizations including AWWA and IAWEA; she is currently serving as president-elect for IAWEA. Lauren received the Harris Seidel award from the Iowa Water Environment Association in 2023 for her work with the high school internship program Water in Progress. She was inducted into the Golden Manhole Society and Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers in 2022 for her contributions to the industry. She also received the Emerging Leader award from United Way in 2021 for her community involvement. When Lauren is not working, she spends all her free time running her three boys from activity to activity or sneaking in a game of volleyball.
